Doctoral Training
My Ph.D. was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Julie Fiez at the University of Pittsburgh and Dr. Lori Holt, at Carnegie Mellon University. My involvement in the CNBC facilitated an interdisciplinary dissertation on cerebellar contributions to adaptive plasticity in speech perception, bridging across the two labs’ interests.
Postdoctoral Training (US)
Upon completion of my Ph.D, I joined Dr. Blumstein’s lab at Brown University where I examined flexibility in perception. In particular, I focused on effects of semantic context and the neural systems that facilitate word recognition of acoustically ambiguous or degraded speech.
Postdoctoral Training (Europe)
In 2016, I moved to Spain to work with Dr. Arthur Samuel at the Basque Center on Cognition, Brain and Language (BCBL) where I was awarded an Individual Marie Sklodowska-Curie fellowship to explore my research interests, in bilinguals.
Undergraduate BS/MS
I studied Chemistry as an undergraduate at Bucknell University, and was fortunate to be selected for a 4-year BS/MS degree program. My Master’s thesis project combined organic synthesis with MRI applications. This sparked my interest in interdisciplinary work.
Industry Experience
Prior to joining a Ph.D program, I worked as an organic chemist, at Pfizer, Inc. in the Neurosciences department. There I had the opportunity to contribute to the development of a patented target compound.
